Part 2 - the South

The Savannah Stones

Deep in the savannah, there is a strange place framed by standing stones. The carvings on these stones tell us the history of this place - once, a race of lizard people, called the shleshtok, came through a portal to our planet. At first they lived in peace with the sapients of Ateraan. But then, strange things happened. People disappeared in the savannah and were never seen again. The people of Darmahk started an expedition to find out the cause of all this - and found the horrible truth.

The sudens discovered that the missing people were killed by the shelshtok, sacrificed on their altar to the evil creatures behind the portal.

A bloody war followed, in which the guilds of the south fought against the lizard people. Under the lead of the high priest of Dahkoar, they managed to drive them into a ravine and sealed the entrance.

The Ravine

The cave entrance in the ravine can still be found in the savannah. The entry was blocked for a long time, but after the fall of the guardians some explorers discovered that the boulders had been moved from the entrance and the cave was open again... The sheshtok didn't make any attempt to conquer the surface so far, but explorers who dared entering the cave reported hostile activities and horrible armour worn by the shleshtok made of body parts of sapients....

The Baobab Tree

This tree in the savannah, in the middle of a sanctuary, is one of the holiest places of nature faith and also for the shamans. Many stories can be told about this tree, the most important ones shall be reported here.

After the shleshtok were defeated, the evil portal still stood unharmed. But however hard the people of Darmahk tried, they couldn't find a way to destroy it. So they decided to bury it into the ground. The druid lord prayed to Ateraan for help and was rewarded with a mystical seed, which he planted where the portal once stood. And from this seed, the baobab tree grew up in the air, to be a guardian of our planet against the enemies from the other plane of existance.

But this is not the end of the story.  Over the years, the tree became weaker and weaker. People heard strange sounds and visions which were very disconcerting. It seemed like the creatures from behind the portal were trying to find a way throught the barriere.

And then one day the evil creatures broke through, a gigantic portal guardian with four arms and impish creatures attacked the tree. They were fought back in an epic battle which lasted four days. Troops from the north and the south, even Waylumi and Dahkoar, fought side by side.

And while the battle still was raging, the spirit of the tree reached out to the master of the shamans and named some keepers who were send out to find magical crystals of healing. After passing through many dangers, the keepers found the crystals and brought them back to heal the Baobab.

The shaman master observed a mighty ritual, in which the tree was not only healed - the baobab tree was transformed into the mighty guardian which now stands before us. And those who fought in the battle were rewarded with a leaf of the tree which they carried with pride.

And still, in times of danger,  the tree speaks to us  tree still speaks to us. It is said that more than a year before the fall of the guardian, the tree warned the druids of a big danger to come. And even in our times, the tree was heard announcing the return of the spirits of the guardians to aid us in the recent battle against the destroyer.

The oasis

The oasis in the desert is also believed to hold a connection to other planes of existance. Some dread attacks happened here, but also the higher beeings who support us in our fight, like the warlock and the four guardians, have chosen the oasis as a gathering place. One remarkable event took place in the summer of 1517, when a magical book was send through time and space by the mages of teciann.  It was brought to our plane by a ritual held at the oasis, in which also the druids had an important part. From this book, the mages learned the spell to summon their magical panthers.

The suden circle

Even though the druids accepted suden members right from the beginning when the passage to the south was opened, we didn't have a circle in the south to induct suden druids. The druid hopefuls from Darmahk had to risk their life travelling north to their induction ceremony. In the year 1513, at the time of arch druidess Raelle, the druids buildt the structure we see today.

The villa ferlada

This place has no strong relation to nature faith, but we noticed that one of the dread attacks in the year 1519 emerged from there. However, so far we couldn't locate a particular place which could serve as a weak spot between the planes - but we should keep an eye on this area, especially in times of danger.

The jungle

The jungle did not always allow us druids to create our magical flowers. This ability was gained in a fertility ritual held by druid Evalvys in the first year of the great migration 1509. Also it is reported in the Darmahk palace library that there were some complaints from suden felines about druids attacking the feline village in the south. Luckily, those dark times are over.
